The best fried scallops on the South Shore...perhaps the most delicious I've ever tasted. I look forward to summer simply for a chance to visit Island View.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and give the Island View the big five star rating. The fish, clams and chips are all excellent and have been for years and the service is always friendly and prompt. But one item I didn't see mentioned in the other reviews are the chocolate milkshakes, which are the best around.
If you can't decide between fish, clams or scallops, try the combo meal, see photo. What could be better than clams, fish, fries and a great big chocolate milkshake! -

Went to Island View for a rather late supper(past 9pm). There were 9 of us, including 4 kids. I wasn't feeling like eating deep-fried stuff so I ordered the Lobster Club sandwich with their homemade bread. It was delicious. You can't beat homemade bread, plus just the right amount of mayo to go with the lobster. The kids had burgers or wings. They were happy. Other adults had the famous Fish and Chip. They all had a big smile on their face afterwards. I also recommend their milk shake. It was so good that I ordered one more to go!
I'm so glad we found this family owned and run restaurant. We will be back again. -

This is a "YGTBFKM" place, as in You've got to be Freakin' kidding me! We stopped due to hunger and the fact that there were plenty of cars out front and at the side lot. Helpful older waitress sat us, and we ordered the lowest quality most expensive burger ever at $10. The bun - let's just say if a place is a bakery, you expect a decent bun - but the bun was...the kind you get to feed seagulls when you're a teen and you want to play a joke on your unsuspecting friends, if you know what I mean. You buy them because they are the cheapest buns in the store. No fries, nada comes with this long dead dried up cow. And the lobster roll? Wow. Was it $14? for again, the cheapo bun with "do you think it's fresh" lobster. (This is a seaside town...). And the ice cream for dessert? No cream here. It was awful ice milk. And the "home made pies"? Upon inquiry, it was confirmed that these pies, although made in shop, had CANNED filling.
So why did everyone park here? To get to the beach!
Do yourself a favor, keep driving.
